Naturally I love chicks, and I've always had a little obsession with Peeps, and their fun shapes! I searched for the perfect wall hanging, and I couldn't find it anywhere. Nothing like what I wanted. So I went back to the drawing board, literally! I decided I was going to make my own wall hanging! I grabbed my iPad, and started to sketch. In no time at all, I ...

Our New Favorite Waterer!

An Easy to Fill Waterer? A Chicken Keeper's Dream! When we first started raising poultry we thought all waterers were the same and we could not have been more wrong! There are so many options from top fill waterers, to watering cups and so much more! We have really tried them all in our coop. Some worked better than others, and there were always quirks. The Perfect Packable Jacket!

Testing Out The 5.11 Tactical Thermees Insulator Jacket I mentioned with my review of Sitka Gear that I'm so picky when it comes to my clothes. Finding the perfect jacket sometimes takes me forever! Recently I had the opportunity to test out the 5.11 Tactical Thermees Insulator Jacket and this jacket pleasantly surprised me! Light and Warm When I first received the jacket I was surprised at the thickness of the jacket. It was thinner than I thought it would be but still kept me warm! The quilt design looks great on the jacket, and really allows for the jacket to be warm, but you don't overheat. I really like with this jacket that I'm going to be able to wear it throughout the ...

Sitka Gear For The Nature Photographer

Putting Sitka Gear To The Test in Nature! I love to be outside whether I'm taking pictures in nature, hiking, or even hunting with the husband. Time to connect with nature is the absolute best! I try to get out as much as possible. Living in Northeast Ohio, I've have to be very mindful of our cold winters, and having the proper gear is of utmost importance. It has been a journey of mine trying to find that perfect mix of keeping me warm enough, but not too hot and having a great fit. New Gear! Recently I had the amazing opportunity to test out some women's winter gear from Sitka Gear. While I was waiting for my gear to arrive, I was a little apprehensive about trying this gear. ...

Recycled Sweater Barn Mittens

Keep Your Hands Warm With a Recycled Sweater! Raising chickens we learned some things really quick. Chickens like to make a mess. Chickens seem to multiple on their own (chicken math). Barn chores can be both super fun, and tiring at the same time. Sooo much chicken manure. In the winter you need good gloves and mittens to keep your hands warm while tending to the flock! We learned very early on that it is good to have multiple pairs of gloves, all different kinds, and mittens are excellent for warming up quickly. You don't want to wear your most expensive gloves and mittens in the barn because they can get pretty dirty quickly. A really inexpensive way to make some mittens easily ...
