An Easy to Fill Waterer? A Chicken Keeper’s Dream!

When we first started raising poultry we thought all waterers were the same and we could not have been more wrong! There are so many options from top fill waterers, to watering cups and so much more! We have really tried them all in our coop. Some worked better than others, and there were always quirks. Recently we had the awesome opportunity to try out the Kuhl 3 Gallon Fountain with Plug and it has been a game changer in our coop!

Easy to Fill!

One main issue we have run into with waterers a lot of the top fill waterers over time became harder and harder to unscrew. We made sure our waterers were super clean, and followed all the proper maintenance schedules, but still so many issues! Don’t even get me started on the waterers you have to take apart to fill, what a mess!

With the Kuhl Fountain with Plug, you fill your waterer from the bottom. When we first received the Fountain we really studied the plug and the concept of filling the waterer from the bottom. The plug is extremely easy to screw off and on, but seals the waterer after filling, no leaks at all!

To fill, simply flip the fountain over. The top is designed in the way that the fountain stands on its own (on a flatter surface), while you are filling the waterer. After you are done filling, screw the plug in, and flip the fountain back over. The carry handle makes it easy to carry your waterer where ever you need to.

Sturdy Construction and Cleaning is a Breeze!

The Kuhl Fountain with Plug has a durable solid construction, so no seams that can split, or start to slowly leak. This gives you peace of mind in your coop! When its time for your waterer cleaning routine, simple remove the base of the fountain, give everything a good scrub. Then put it all back together and you are good to go! The ease of cleaning a waterer is so important. We are able to give ours a good cleaning in less than 5 minutes!
